How to install Electric Shower?

Another important point is to assess whether you are going to buy a wall or ceiling showers. Wall-mounted ones are the most common and there are models with or without a tube. The longer the tube, the greater the distance between the water jet and the wall. So, if your box’s space is small, choose a model with a smaller tube!

The ceiling shower, on the other hand, has the advantage of being able to be installed in the center of the box, but the installation is more restricted and the model can only be used when the hydraulics come from the ceiling – thus, this shower requires the installation of the lining to hide the piping .

Before even starting the shower installation, it is important to take some precautions. The first, without a doubt, is to check if the electrical voltage and power of the appliance are compatible with the wiring and circuit breaker in your home.

Ground wire:


By standards, the ground wire must always be yellow or green. But in some electrical installations this equipment may be lacking. In this case, the recommendation is to install the ground wire to increase safety when using the shower. You will need around 2 meters of wire and a connector that must have a rod with a 4 mm cable (the measure needs to be enough to connect the rod and the shower).

Observe or photograph the shower resistance before buying a new one and correctly analyze the position where it is, to make the installation correctly. The longest stretch between the contacts will be applied for most of the resistance and the shortest for the part corresponding to the size.

Using pliers, remove the old resistance and replace the burned part with the new one, paying attention to leave it in the same position. Then reassemble the shower.

Make the shower installation as instructed and, before turning the circuit breaker, remember to let the water fall for about 30 seconds. This will remove the air and fill the shower chamber with water, preventing the new heater from burning.
